When and why do people experience flight shame?

Abstract

Investigates individual reports of flight shame in different travel situations. Flight shame was more pronounced when going on holiday, than for visiting family and friends, or travelling for work. Flight shame was consistently associated with personal norms and injunctive norms, but not with descriptive norms.
