Abstract

Review question/objective: The aim of this review is to synthesize the best available evidence on the experiences of mistreatment and/or obstetric violence in women. Specifically, the objective is to explore, from a woman’s point of view, the impacts and consequences of mistreatment and/or obstetric violence during childbearing. The review question is: ‘‘What are the experiences and impact of mistreatment and obstetric violence on women during the
active period of childbearing?’
