Biography Following a MSc in pharmaceutical formulation sciences (2010, Egypt), my PhD research in drug delivery and tissue engineering was conducted at the University of Nottingham, UK. My PhD dissertation “Gradient delivery of bioactive molecules across porous hydrogels” was supervised by Professor Kevin Shakesheff, 2016. Since then, I continued a series of collaborative research projects in the fields of drug delivery and regenerative medicine in Alexandria university, Egypt. Through which, I have co-supervised multidisciplinary MSc.& PhD projects in different academic disciplines; drug/gene delivery, biomedical engineering, material science and regenerative medicine . I have also been involved in academic higher education teaching for pharmacy under/postgraduate students in Egypt 2016-2019.
Currently, I work at the University of Nottingham on mucus penetrating peptide nanoparticles intended for lung and intestinal delivery. Other work involves the development of DNA vaccine to prevent COVID-19 at the university of Nottingham.
