Biography I am Senior Research Fellow in Adult Education at the University of Nottingham and completed my PhD examining the Shropshire Adult Education College, 1948-76, a short-term residential adult education college, in 2017. I used an oral history methodology for my research, including undertaking interviews and analysing existing voice archive material. My background is in community and public engagement, in both Higher Education and the voluntary sector. . I am Chair of the Raymond Williams Foundation and a Trustee of ARVAC (Association for Research in the Voluntary and Community sector)
Research Interests My areas of academic interest are in social justice, class and equality, informal learning and political activism/education, and civil society.
