| Project Title | The Application of Microwave Preheating in Resin Transfer Moulding |
| Project Description | This original research into the manufacture of fibre reinforced structural composites by liquid moulding techniques was conducted in association with the Ford Motor Company. The aim of the research was to productionise an in-line microwave applicator (TM020) used to preheat liquid resin prior to injection into the mould. This system permitted control of the cure profile across the component, minimising cycle times. |
