Presentation / Conference Contribution
Morgan, S. P., Correia, R., Korposh, S., Al-Badri, M., Hayes-Gill, B. R., Norris, A. M., Sinha, R., Hardman, J. G., Gardner, D. S., & Talbot, S. (2020, April). Development and Translation of intra-Tracheal Multiplexed Sensing Endotracheal Tubes (iTraXS). Presented at Biophotonics Congress: Biomedical Optics 2020 (Translational, Microscopy, OCT, OTS, BRAIN), virtual

An endotracheal tube with integrated optical fibre sensors (fibre Bragg grating and photoplethysmography) is described. The system aims to ensure the appropriate cuff inflation pressure to achieve a gas seal but reduce pressure injury.

Blood pressure estimation from photoplethysmogram and electrocardiogram signals using machine learning (2018)
Presentation / Conference Contribution
Yang, S., Zaki, W., Morgan, S., Cho, S.-Y., Correia, R., Wen, L., & Zhang, Y. (2018, November). Blood pressure estimation from photoplethysmogram and electrocardiogram signals using machine learning. Presented at IET Doctoral Forum on Biomedical Engineering, Healthcare, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence 2018 (BRAIN 2018), Ningbo, China

Blood pressure measurement is a significant part of preventive healthcare and has been widely used in clinical risk and disease management. However, conventional measurement does not provide continuous monitoring and sometimes is inconvenient with a... Ultrasound modulation of bioluminescence generated inside a turbid medium (2017)
Presentation / Conference Contribution
Ahmad, J., Jayet, B., Hill, P. J., Mather, M. L., Dehghani, H., & Morgan, S. P. (2017, January). Ultrasound modulation of bioluminescence generated inside a turbid medium. Presented at Photons Plus Ultrasound: Imaging and Sensing 2017, San Francisco, California, United States

In vivo bioluminescence imaging (BLI) has poor spatial resolution owing to strong light scattering by tissue, which also affects quantitative accuracy. This paper proposes a hybrid acousto-optic imaging platform that images bioluminescence modulated... Read More about Ultrasound modulation of bioluminescence generated inside a turbid medium.

Polymeric fibre optic sensor based on a SiO2 nanoparticle film for humidity sensing on wounds (2016)
Presentation / Conference Contribution
Gomez, D., Morgan, S. P., Hayes Gill, B. R., & Korposh, S. (2016, May). Polymeric fibre optic sensor based on a SiO2 nanoparticle film for humidity sensing on wounds. Presented at Sixth European Workshop on Optical Fibre Sensors (EWOFS'2016), Limerick, Ireland

© 2016 SPIE. Optical fibre sensors have the potential to be incorporated into wound dressings to monitor moisture and predict healing without the need to remove the dressing. A low cost polymeric optical fibre humidity sensor based on evanescent wave... Read More about Polymeric fibre optic sensor based on a SiO2 nanoparticle film for humidity sensing on wounds.

Highly sensitive contact pressure measurements using FBG patch in endotracheal tube cuff (2016)
Presentation / Conference Contribution
Correia, R., Blackman, O. R., Hernandez, F. U., Korposh, S., Morgan, S. P., Hayes-Gill, B. R., James, S. W., Evans, D., & Norris, A. (2016, May). Highly sensitive contact pressure measurements using FBG patch in endotracheal tube cuff. Presented at Sixth European Workshop on Optical Fibre Sensors, Limerick, Ireland

A method for measuring the contact pressure between an endotracheal tube cuff and the trachea was designed and developed by using a fibre Bragg grating (FBG) based optical fibre sensor. The FBG sensor is encased in an epoxy based UV-cured cuboid patc... Read More about Highly sensitive contact pressure measurements using FBG patch in endotracheal tube cuff.
