This chapter introduces an internationally comparative study of school leavers’ and graduates’ datasets, looking at how they are produced and used in educational policy planning, institutional decision-making and informing students. The research contrasts the cases of England, Finland and the Netherlands in detail. The chapter discusses the inception of the study, the research design and various methods used, and provides a summary of the key outcomes.
