Abstract

This chapter offers an analysis of Unamuno's clandestine political activities and the ways in which he was kept under surveillance by the Spanish and French authorities during his exile in Hendaye (1925-1930). It reveals for the first time the true extent of Unamuno's influence as an exile at a particularly sensitive moment in Franco-Spanish relations.
