Abstract

Differential Evolution (DE) is a population-based metaheuristic for addressing optimization problems [[1], [2], [3]]. The algorithm processes a population of candidate solutions by performing two operations. The first operation, namely mutation, is the calculation of a provisional offspring vector by linear combination of other population individuals. The second operation, the crossover, is the computation of an offspring individual by composing some design variables of the provisional offspring individual with those of a parent. The algorithm replaces the candidate solutions by applying a one-to-one logic.
