Gender in the Rhetoric of Jesus: Women in Q
Parks, Sara
Authors
Abstract
The “gendered parable pairs” in Q reveal that Jesus of Nazareth had an innovative gender-levelling rhetoric, with literary repercussions throughout the New Testament. Examining the sayings in Q, outside of the canonical gospel narratives that tame and frame them, sheds new light on the study of early Jewish women.
