Abstract

This book discusses the nature of politics and 'the political'. It does so by contrasting and comparing contested definitions and descriptions, leading to a focus on processes of characterised by both conflict and cooperation. These processes can be analysed by a set of 'key' questions, which revolve around political actors; political conflicts; political power; the political landscape and the wider context; and the political system and the political community.
