Research Interests My research involves the development and application of new techniques and hardware for biomedical imaging. This includes the design of improved gradient and shim coils for use in the next generation of magnetic resonance scanners and the design of coil systems that provide the low field environment needed for wearable magnetoencephalography (MEG) measurements. Recent work also focuses on realising the advantages of ultra-high magnetic field for human magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy studies, the combination of other imaging modalities, such as electroencephalography (EEG), with MRI, and the development of wearable MEG systems based on optically pumped magnetometers.
