Abstract
This study investigates Steel-Reinforced Grout (SRG) jackets’ efficiency in enhancing the shear strength in Reinforced Concrete (RC) beams with various shear span-to-depth (a/d) ratios, comparing them with Carbon Fabric Reinforced Cementitious Mortars (CFRCM) and Steel Reinforced Polymer (SRP) jackets. Seventeen beams underwent monotonic loading to assess the impact of the textile layer number and jacket configuration for a/d=2.0 and 3.5. The results demonstrated that SRG, CFRCM, and SRP systems increased the shear strength by up to 124%, 174%, and 176% for deep beams (a/d = 2.0) and 170%, 215%, and 221% for slender beams (a/d = 3.5), respectively. Fully wrapped SRG and SRP systems shifted failure from brittle to ductile. An analytical model is proposed for predicting SRG strengthened beam shear capacity, accounting for the influence of a/d, with a correlation coefficient (R2) of 95.84%.
