Abstract

The purpose of my contribution is to examine what Paul writes of the resurrection appearances in 1 Cor 15:5-8 and to draw conclusions about their “historicity,” their nature, and their purpose. The implications of such appearances for Christian theology are not inconsiderable and my discussion include some philosophical reflection, drawing on aspects of transcendental idealism.
