Introduction: Queer Literature in the Sinosphere

Abstract

In this introductory chapter of the book, we first trace a brief literary history in the Sinosphere, focusing on the modern and the contemporary eras. We then review major scholarship in English on the topic, identifying the book’s scholarly contributions to the study of queer literature in the Sinosphere. This is followed by a brief overview of the book’s key themes, topics and arguments.
