Abstract

The chapter brings together the key observations about how leadership and collaboration can be realised in talk at work. This discussion entails specifically the consideration of the forms, functions and effects of communicative practices associated with realising leadership and collaboration, and their link to transactional and relational aspects of talk at work. The chapter then turns to a discussion of what can be done with these findings and observations, considering also the situatedness and evaluation of language use at work, and outlines recommendations for means of informing professional practice and the communicative practices at work.
