Biography Dr Virginia Portillo is a Research Fellow at Horizon Digital Economy Research, Computer Science, at the University of Nottingham. She has a multi and interdisciplinary research background and in the last years her research has focused on studying human-technology interactions. Virginia is driven by promoting and facilitating Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) practice in the technology sector. Her current research interests surround embedded responsible AI, including developing tools to support RRI practice (e.g., "RRI Prompts and Practice" cards). She is also a RRI Practitioner for the Observatory for RRI in ICT (ORBIT) training PhD and academics in RRI. Key areas of interest include: RRI; responsible AI; trustworthy AI; HCI; HRI; transparency and data privacy by design; ethics by design; participatory research; co-design and policy impact.
