Prof LUCELIA RODRIGUES
| Biography | Prof Lucelia Rodrigues is the Chair in Sustainable and Resilient Cities at the Department of Architecture and Built Environment of the University of Nottingham, where her research and teaching have a strong focus on environmental design and sustainability. Her work has always been very cross-disciplinary, aiming to inform the sustainable practice of architecture and enhance the quality of the built environment. She is particularly interested in the resilience of communities and buildings in a changing climate and has been involved in several projects focused on different aspects of sustainability, particularly energy, behaviour and comfort. |

| Research Interests | Lucelia's research area is broadly sustainable and resilient cities. Specific areas of interest include: - Climate resilience of buildings, particularly in low-energy housing - Human comfort and overheating - Community resilience, particularly through energy security - Modern methods of construction, prefabrication and custom-built homes - Passive heating and cooling techniques - Post-occupancy evaluation and the performance gap - Education for sustainability in architecture |
| Teaching and Learning | Lucelia has been a full-time lecturer in architecture at the University of Nottingham since 2008 where she teaches mostly at post-graduate level with a strong focus on environmental design and sustainable architecture. Her work is very cross-disciplinary, building the link between architecture, building science and renewable energy technologies. She is Course Director for the MArch in Architecture and Sustainable Design. |
