Abstract

Communicable diseases are capitalising on our highly connected world to spread as global pandemics. COVID-19 is the most recent example. This article tracks the early stages of the global diffusion of the COVID-19 pandemic, and assesses its rate of spread through the Worldwide Air Transportation Network (WAN).
