Abstract

As a consequence of the emphasis in many states upon the criminalisation of terrorism (as explored in Chapters 13 and 14), and given relatively high conviction rates for those cases that do reach the criminal courts, growing attention is turning to the penology of terrorism. Three responses have been triggered in relation to terrorism prisoners in the UK, which will be the main focus of this chapter.
